Building Our Legacy: The Road to Success

Hello, my name is Sheryl Emery. I am the President of National Black Deaf Advocates.
The National Black Deaf Advocates (NBDA) is thrilled to announce that the 2025 National Conference will take place August 13-16, 2025, at the Kansas City Downtown Marriott.
This year’s theme, “Building Our Legacy: The Road to Success,” embodies resilience, unity, and progress. Kansas City, home to the African American Heritage Trail, is more than just our host city—it is a symbol of our shared history and a powerful gathering place where the Black Deaf community can connect, learn, and thrive.
Our conference will feature dynamic workshops focused on professional development, cultural empowerment, and skill-building, ensuring that every attendee leaves with the tools to elevate their journey toward success.
For over four decades, NBDA conferences have been a catalyst for breaking barriers, amplifying voices, and celebrating achievements. From Cleveland in 1982 to Birmingham in 2023, each gathering has strengthened our movement. Now, we bring that energy to Kansas City.
Join us as we honor our past, celebrate our present, and build our future. Together, we are paving the Road to Success. See you in Kansas City!
